As much as we want to make the mountains safer by spreading avalanche awareness and backcountry safety knowledge we also want to help saving the snow that we all love! Looking at the industry and the gear we use, we realized that most beanies are made of acrylic fabric, which is made from fossil fuels like petroleum and can not be recycled.

This means that while we are trying to stay warm outside in the winter most of us are using materials that are extremely harmful to the environment.

We think the best way to give back to nature it by protecting it. We are therefore dedicated to use eco-friendly material in all our products. 100% of the cotton we use in our beanies is organic cotton, this a great example of high quality product can be made with organic and eco-friendly material.

Benefits of organic cotton

  • Natural fiber
  • Breathable
  • Soft to skin
  • Lightweight
  • Reduce environmental footprint (No toxic chemicals are used)
  • Creates a safer work environment for the farmers and better livelihood
  • Recyclable
  • Biodegradable

Organic cotton materials can be recycled and spun into new fabric or yarn which is a great alternative to disposal. Even if the garment is so broken down that it can’t be recycled, organic cotton is a natural fiber and is therefore biodegradable, making sure that the product can be composed and won’t be taking up space in our already packed landfills.

We aim toward making our products more eco-friendly everyday.
